無奈？生命的痕跡 .... 真的是 ... 苦樂相依 .....
但願災難早日遠離，百遭蹂躪的世界能有寧諡，
每個生命... 都能在既定的軌道上 ... 安行 ....
在人生路上 .... 少受點兒風、少淋一些雨，

謝謝不渡詞長，也把全詩貼出來與大家分享。
kahlil Gibron 紀伯倫真是了不起的詩人，他那融合東方哲理及西方實踐精神，悲天憫人的思想，
為娑婆世界注入清流。可惜詩人英年早逝，要不，還會有更多分享。
心的自覺，才能徹底的解決煩惱；愛的給予和祝福，才能消弭紛爭，帶來祥和。

Joy and Sorrow

Then a woman said, "Speak to us of Joy and Sorrow."

And he answered:

Your joy is your sorrow unmasked.

And the selfsame well from which your laughter rises was oftentimes filled with your tears.

And how else can it be?

The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain.

Is not the cup that hold your wine the very cup that was burned in the potter's oven?

And is not the lute that soothes your spirit, the very wood that was hollowed with knives?

When you are joyous, look deep into your heart and you shall find it is only that
which has given you sorrow that is giving you joy.

When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that
in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.

Some of you say, "Joy is greater than sorrow," and others say, "Nay, sorrow is the greater."

But I say unto you, they are inseparable.

Together they come, and when one sits alone with you at your board,
remember that the other is asleep upon your bed.

Verily you are suspended like scales between your sorrow and your joy.

Only when you are empty are you at standstill and balanced.

When the treasure-keeper lifts you to weigh his gold and his silver,
needs must your joy or your sorrow rise or fall.

歡樂與憂愁

　　一位女子說，請給我們講講歡樂和憂愁。

　　他答道：

　　揭開面具，你們的歡樂就是你們的憂愁。

　　從你淚水注滿的同一眼井中，你的歡樂泉湧。

　　能不如此嗎？

　　哀愁刻劃在你們身上的傷痕愈深，你們就能容納愈多的歡樂。

　　難道不是曾經鍛煉于陶工爐火中的杯盞，如今斟滿你們的葡萄美酒？

　　難道不是曾經被利刃樓空的樹木，如今成爲撫慰你們心靈的魯特琴？

　　當你們欣喜時，深究自己的心靈，你們會發現如今帶給你們歡樂的，正是當初帶給你們憂愁的。

　　當你們悲哀時，再審視自己的心靈，你們會發現如今帶給你們憂愁的，正是當初帶給你們歡樂的。

　　你們當中一些人說："歡樂甚於憂愁。"而另一些人說："否，憂愁甚於歡樂。"

　　但我對你們說，它們是不可分的。

　　它們一同降臨，當其中一個獨自與你同席時，要記住另一個正在你的床上安眠。

　　的確，你們像搖擺於憂愁與歡樂之間的～架天平。

　　只有當你們完全虛空時，你們才會靜止，平衡。

　　當寶藏守護者用你稱量他的金銀時，必然需要你的歡樂和憂愁升降起伏。

Love

Then said Almitra, "Speak to us of Love."

And he raised his head and looked upon the people,
and there fell a stillness upon them.

And with a great voice he said:

When love beckons to you follow him,

Though his ways are hard and steep.

And when his wings enfold you yield to him,

Though the sword hidden among his pinions may wound you.

And when he speaks to you believe in him,

Though his voice may shatter your dreams as the north wind lays waste the garden.

For even as love crowns you so shall he crucify you.

Even as he is for your growth so is he for your pruning.

Even as he ascends to your height and caresses your tenderest branches that quiver in the sun,

So shall he descend to your roots and shake them in their clinging to the earth.

Like sheaves of corn he gathers you unto himself.

He threshes you to make you naked.

He sifts you to free you from your husks.

He grinds you to whiteness.

He kneads you until you are pliant;

And then he assigns you to his sacred fire,
that you may become sacred bread for God's sacred feast.

All these things shall love do unto you that you may know the secrets of your heart,
and in that knowledge become a fragment of Life's heart.

But if in your fear you would seek only love's peace and love's pleasure,

Then it is better for you that you cover your nakedness and pass out of love's threshing-floor,

Into the seasonless world where you shall laugh, but not all of your laughter,
and weep, but not all of your tears.

Love gives naught but itself and takes naught but from itself.

Love possesses not nor would it be possessed;
For love is sufficient unto love.

When you love you should not say,

"God is in my heart," but rather, I am in the heart of God."

And think not you can direct the course of love,
if it finds you worthy, directs your course.

Love has no other desire but to fulfil itself.

But if you love and must needs have desires, let these be your desires:

To melt and be like a running brook that sings its melody to the night.

To know the pain of too much tenderness.

To be wounded by your own understanding of love;
And to bleed willingly and joyfully.
To wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving;

To rest at the noon hour and meditate love's ecstasy;
To return home at eventide with gratitude;

And then to sleep with a prayer for the beloved in your heart and a song of praise upon your lips.

　　於是艾爾梅特拉說，請給我們談談愛吧。

　　他擡頭望著衆人，人群一片寂靜。他用洪亮的聲音說道：

　　當愛揮手召喚你們時，跟隨著他，

　　儘管他的道路艱難而險峻。

　　當他展翼擁抱你們時，依順著他，

　　儘管他羽翼中的利刃會傷害你們。

　　當他對你們說話時，要相信他，

　　儘管他的聲音會擊碎你的夢，像狂風盡掃園中的花。

　　愛雖可爲你們加冕，也能將你們釘上十字架。他雖可助你們成長，也能將你們削砍剪刈。

　　他會攀至你們的高處，輕撫你們在陽光下顫動的最柔嫩的枝條，

　　這一切都是愛爲你們所做，使你們或許能從中領悟自己心中的秘密，從而成爲生命之心的一小部分。

　　但是如果你們出於畏懼只去尋求愛的和美與愛的歡樂，

　　那你們最好掩起自己的赤裸，離開愛的打穀場，

　　踏入那沒有季節的世界，在那裏，你會開懷，但不是盡情歡笑；你會哭泣，但不是盡抛淚水。

　　愛除了自身別無所予，除了自身別無所取。

　　愛不佔有，也不被佔有；

　　因爲愛有了自己就足夠了。

　　當你愛了，你不應稅’上帝在我心中"，而應說"我在上帝心中"。

　　別以爲你可以指引愛的方向，因爲愛，如果他認爲你配，將指引你的方向。

　　愛別無他求，只求成全自己。

　　但如果你愛了，又必定有所渴求，那就讓這些成爲你的所求吧：

　　融化爲一道奔流的溪水，在夜晚吟唱自己的清曲。

　　體會太多溫柔帶來的痛苦。

　　被自己對愛的體會所傷害。

　　心甘情願地淌血。

　　清晨，帶著一顆生翼的心醒來，感謝又一個充滿愛的日子；

　　午休，沈思愛的心醉神怡；

　　黃昏，帶著感激歸家；

　　睡前，爲你心中的摯愛祈禱，唇間吟誦著讚美詩。

Giving

Then said a rich man, "Speak to us of Giving."
And he answered:

You give but little when you give of your possessions.

It is when you give of yourself that you truly give.

For what are your possessions but things you keep and guard
for fear you may need them tomorrow?

And tomorrow, what shall tomorrow bring to the overprudent
dog burying bones in the trackless sand
as he follows the pilgrims to the holy city?

And what is fear of need but need itself?

Is not dread of thirst when your well is full,
thirst that is unquenchable?

There are those who give little of the much which they have -
and they give it for recognition and their hidden desire makes their gifts unwholesome.

And there are those who have little and give it all.

These are the believers in life and the bounty of life,
and their coffer is never empty.

There are those who give with joy,
and that joy is their reward.

And there are those who give with pain,
and that pain is their baptism.

And there are those who give and know not pain in giving, nor do they seek joy,
nor give with mindfulness of virtue;

They give as in yonder valley the myrtle breathes its fragrance into space.

Though the hands of such as these God speaks,
and from behind their eyes He smiles upon the earth.

It is well to give when asked, but it is better to give unasked,
through understanding;

And to the open-handed the search for one
who shall receive is joy greater than giving

And is there aught you would withhold?

All you have shall some day be given;

Therefore give now, that the season of giving may be yours and not your inheritors'.

You often say, "I would give, but only to the deserving."

The trees in your orchard say not so, nor the flocks in your pasture.

They give that they may live, for to withhold is to perish.

Surely he who is worthy to receive his days and his nights is worthy of all else from you.

And he who has deserved to drink from the ocean of life
deserves to fill his cup from your little stream.

And what desert greater shall there be than that
which lies in the courage and the confidence,
nay the charity, of receiving?

And who are you that men should rend their bosom and unveil their pride,
that you may see their worth naked and their pride unabashed?

See first that you yourself deserve to be a giver,
and an instrument of giving.

For in truth it is life that gives unto life -
while you, who deem yourself a giver, are but a witness.

And you receivers - and you are all receivers - assume no weight of gratitude,
lest you lay a yoke upon yourself and upon him who gives.

Rather rise together with the giver on his gifts as on wings;

For to be overmindful of your debt, is to doubt his generosity
who has the free-hearted earth for mother, and God for father.

施與

　　一位富人接下來說，請爲我們講施與。

　　他答道：

　　當你們拿出自己的財産時，你們的施與微不足道。

　　你們奉獻自己時，才是真正的施與。

　　因爲你們的財産不就是一些你們擔心明天可能需要才佔有、才保護的東西嗎？

　　而明天，明天又能給那謹小慎微追隨朝聖者，而又把骨頭埋藏在荒沙裏的狗帶來什麽？

　　除了需要本身，你們還需要什麽呢？

　　當井水滿溢，你對乾渴的恐懼豈不就是一種無法解脫的乾渴？

　　有些人只捐棄自己財産中的一點一些，——他們是爲得到認可而施與，而他們隱藏的欲望使他們的饋贈不成爲美。

　　也有一些人，他們擁有甚少，卻全部付出。

　　他們相信生命和生命的贈禮，他們的儲櫃從不空虛。

　　有些人快樂地施與，這快樂就是他們的回報。

　　有些人痛苦地施與，這痛苦就是他們的洗禮。

　　還有一些人，給予時並不覺得痛苦，也不是爲了尋求快樂，或布善施德；

　　他們施與，就像山谷那邊的桃金娘散發芳香。

　　上帝通過這些人之手施教，透過他們的雙眸向大地微笑。

　　被祈求時施與固然很好，但更高的境界是通過體察，在別人開口前相贈。

　　對於慷慨的人，能找到樂於接受饋贈的人較之施與本身是更深的快樂。

　　你有什麽不能捨棄的呢？

　　總有一天，你所有的一切都將留與他人；

　　所以現在就饋贈吧，把奉獻的時機留給你自己，而不是你的繼承人。

　　你們常說："我會解囊，但只爲值得的人。"

　　你們果園中的樹木不會這樣說，你們草地上的羊群也不會這樣說。

　　因爲奉獻，它們才會生存，而拒絕只會帶來滅亡。

　　一個配得到自己白晝與黑夜的人，無疑配從你們這裏獲得其他一切。

　　一個配從生命之海中取飲的人，也配從你們的小溪裏汲滿水杯。

　　什麽樣的美德能超過接受的勇氣、信任、甚至慈悲？

　　你是誰，值得人們撕開胸膛、摘下自尊的面紗，讓你看到他們赤裸的價值和他們無愧的尊嚴？

　　先審視一下自己是否配作一個饋贈者，一件施與的工具。

　　因爲一切都是生命對生命的饋贈——而你，將自己視爲施主的你，不過是一個見證。

　　至於你們這些受惠者——你們的確都是受惠者一毋須背負感恩戴德的重擔，以免給自己以至施與者套上枷鎖。

　　不如與施與者憑藉饋贈，如同憑藉一對翅膀，一起飛翔，

　　因爲耿耿於欠負，就是懷疑那以樂善好施的大地爲母，以上帝爲父的施與者的慷慨了。
